We used luxurious fabrics and textured wallpaper in this classic, contemporary-styled interior, with ceiling-fitted curtains that are wall-to-wall when closed. We designed a curved lamp table and matching console to complete the scheme, adding cushions in satin and velvet to their existing sofas.
A large cream shaggy rug adds texture. The overall effect is a very chic and stylish sitting room with a cosy ambience.
A smaller space, this chill-out room, complete with a music system, makes relaxing the main focus. The colourful artwork was the inspiration, adding splashes of colour in cushions to the grey corner sofa. The panoramic windows have sliding panels in a sheer stripe fabric, incorporating a design link with the sitting room.
This truly remarkable property had plenty of hidden spaces to explore and develop with their own unique style. Outside buildings were converted into a secret retreat and party room with a real ski chalet feel, complete with wood burning stove, quirky animal heads, travel art posters, and plenty of other alpine touches.
We upholstered a beautiful old sledge as an extra quirky seat, while cube stools were grouped tightly to create an ottoman in front of the fire. However, these could also be separated and placed around the room as extra seating, making it the perfect space for hosting parties.
Mixing textures of felt, wool and tartan – with animal hides as rugs – created a cosy ski lodge feel. We even made two matching dog bed covers for when the client’s dogs are laid next to the fire. We sourced the metal-distressed bar stools and added sheepskin tops with wire cage light pendants around the oak bar area, perfect for aprés ski.
